Light

How great the darkness
How deep the need!
How vast the problems of indiff'rence, hate and greed.
A world rejecting the truth once known
And slipping down into a nightmare of its own.
Is there a LIGHT that's strong enough to go,
And metamorphasize the darkness that we know.

I am the candle of the Lord,
And truth and love more powerful than sword!
O fan the flame, its single gleam diffuse,
AND LET MY SPIRIT BE THE LIGHT THAT YOU CAN USE.

The Dictionary definition of light. Light- something that makes things visible or affords illumination:
Psalm 18:28 - You, O LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into LIGHT.
John 8:12 - When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the LIGHT of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the LIGHT of life."
John 3:19 - This is the verdict: LIGHT has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of LIGHT because their deeds were evil.
Romans 13:12 -The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of LIGHT.
2 Corinthians 4:6 - For God, who said, "Let LIGHT shine out of darkness," made his LIGHT shine in our hearts to give us the LIGHT of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
Ephesians 5:8 - For you were once darkness, but now you are LIGHT in the Lord. Live as children of LIGHT.
1 John 1:5 - This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is LIGHT; in him there is no darkness at all.
Philippians 2:14-16 -Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you SHINE like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing.

Sense the common theme? I am just amazed by light. The concept is simple really. Scientists don't fully understand the concept of light. Why? Because God is light. And as Christians we are called to be like God. Therefore we should be a light in our darkness. God has called me to be a light in the darkness. God has called you to be a light in the darkness. Since the day is drawing nearer lets put on the armor of LIGHT.
