New Favorite Song

You know how you hear the same song alot and you kinda just sing it and don't think about what your singing? Well maybe that only happens to me but I do that alot. So this weekend one song that really blessed me was Did you Feel the Mountains Tremble. The words are so amazing!!!!! I can't stop listening to it and singing it in my head and outloud! It's such an amazing feeling when you are in church and all the voices around you are singing a song with all their heart. I think it brings a smile to Gods face. My favorite part is did you feel the darkness tremble? When all the saints join in one song and all the streams flow as one river to wash away our brokeness!
I encourage you to listen to it, if you have it. Man I wish I could put up a sound file. Oh well..maybe one day I will learn how. :)

Did you feel the mountains tremble?
Did you hear the oceans roar?
When the people rose to sing of
Jesus Christ the risen one

Did you feel the people tremble?
Did you hear the singers roar?
When the lost began to sing of
Jesus Christ the risen one

And we can see that God you're moving
A mighty river through the nations
And young and old will turn to Jesus
Fling wide your heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord

Open up the doors and let the music play
Let the streets resound with singing
Songs that bring your hope
Songs that bring your joy
Dancers who dance upon injustice

Did you feel the darkness tremble?
When all the saints join in one song
And all the streams flow as one river
To wash away our brokeness

And here we see that God you're moving
A time of Jubilee is coming
When young and old return to Jesus
Fling wide your heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord

So what now?

So Major Ashcraft asked this after my last post. "What is the mission that God has for this band of revolutionary Christians who met on New Year's eve?"
This question really got me thinking. I am so on fire for Jesus, now what!? I mean I know what I have to do now, SPREAD IT! But How? So as I was thinking about this, the idea popped into my head to have a twelve hour praise and worship here in the Greater New York Division. I immediately spoke to my DYS about it and he was all game for it which got me really excited. I think it will be sooo amazing to have one in New York. I think it will shake up the divisions youth, in a good way. We have so much talent in this division it would be a shame to not use it to praise God. So I have this whole idea planned in my head and we are just working on a date. Please pray that this whole thing will work out and that lives will be changed and hearts will be on fire for Jesus again. I have never felt so strong about something as I do this. I have talked to a bunch of people about this and they think that it is a great idea and are willing to help make it work! I'm excited.

Oh yeah I'm 17 now :) my birthday was on Tuesday. I had a couple people over Sunday night into monday and went into the city on Monday. It was allot of fun to just chill with good friends!
Well I'm off to Ladore tomorrow for the Worship Arts Convocation. I'm going down early. I'm excited for that too. Please also pray for that.

oh yeah and a reminder that the 120th anniversary of the New York Staff Band in coming up! :) PLEASE COME! It's going to be a memorable event! You could sit next to me!!! :)

New Years Eve

Well for New Years Eve I went down to the Pioneer Corps in Philly. I went down with Tabitha, Seth and Evan. We got there really fast and early to help set it all up. I met loads of awesome people in the process of setting up which was cool.. Then 7 o'clock came around and it was time for some worship. For TWELVE HOURS STRAIGHT we praised and worshiped God. It was absolutely amazing!! There were two short messages during the night..and they were both great! The main theme for the evening was the river of God and it focused around this verse.

Psalm 46:4, There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.

There was a point during the night oh about 2 in the morning when there was a lull and people started to fall alseep and go outside and stuff...ofcoarse there were the 5 of us who never stopped :) anyway one of the leaders Mary said that she thinks we need to get back on track and she was right. We got close together all sitting on the floor and began to pray. It was an amazing time. It changed my life!! It made me realize how far I have drifted away from God and He told me my flaws and it was very clear. We prayed and prayed. I left with a changed heart, mind and soul. It was amazing! PRAISE GOD!

At about 4 or 5 in the morning there were maybe twenty people left and we started talking about what the verse ment to us.
This is how Erin Burgmayer described it..."There IS a river." no questions. there is. "Whose streams make glad." so the river makes us glad. "the city of God." the river makes not only us, but the whole city of God glad. "The holy place where the Most High dwells." this is my favorite part. If we are immersed in the water. the water is the holy place where the Lord's presence dwells! So the deeper we are in the river of God, The more in His presence we are."
How amazing is that!

YES! Finally got some pics up! ...I hope this made sense! hahaha
