The Summer
Wow! What a summer. I don't even know where to start. I apologize in advance because this is going to be a long one. :)
So as you all know I worked at Star Lake Camp this summer. This was my third summer working there. I was a counselor this year and I worked with the younger girls. It was a lot of fun but I think this was my last summer working at camp. I'm hoping to go on the hands on mission trip next summer. :)
While I was working this summer I had lots of encounters with "the bear." One night as I was bringing the girls back to the cabin the bear decided to run in our direction!!! You can just imagine the chaos that occured that night. The bear also loved the garbage cans right by my cabin. Lets just say the night duties I had were VERY interesting.
One of my breaks I went up to OOB. I love going up there and seeing everyone. This is a picture of me and Ashley bored on the car ride up :)
It was really good to see my family too. I missed them. While I was up there at the pier one night Mrs.Bate grabbed my arm and pulled me into the prayer tent. There I met a couple people from the war college. They did a listening prayer and told me these images that they saw. It was pretty awesome. I told some people what they saw and they had these awesome explanations. It was such a cool experience.
So the last day of camp I went straight to the training school to attend my 4th TAM conservatory :) TAM is my favorite part of the summer. This year I decided to change my major and sang in the first ever Worship track. I couldn't have asked for better instructors. Bill Rollins, Raymond Livingston, Mark Hood (who is an amazing guitar player from the west), Phil Laeger (An amazing piano player, music writer, singer :) ) and an officer from Ohio whose name I can't remember but he was such an encourager and had so much energy. I learned loads about worship leading and putting together a worship group and rehearsing. We immediately started leading worship for the students and instructors. There is such a sense of freedom in the woship times we had it was amazing. One night we went all over times square with our small groups doing various tasks like praying with someone, giving someone a lunch, handing out new testaments, tipping workers in Starbucks, singing on the street corner. It was an awesome experience. After that we went and saw Mary Poppins on Broadway. One night I went to the prayer room with Tabitha Gray, Amber Medin and Ashley Morgan. We talked about our prayer requests and started praying for one another. When they began to pray for me I fell on my knees and began sobbing. God really broke me and it was very much needed. This was the begining of a huge transformation that happened at TAM. After that night God spoke to me through everything! Through the devotions lead by mrs. munn, through the worship times, even through the TAM finale. Just the fact that the whole TAM Conservatory learned the entire book of Mark was a blessing. Sunday morning was very powerful. It was a challenge to the students. Taken from the book of Mark chapter 16 verse 15 - Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. That's a pretty big job to do but with God anything is possible. Sunday was an emotional day too. I prayed with lots of people but the one that sticks out in my memory is praying with Mrs.Munn. I could barely speak when I was telling her what was on my heart and the tears wouldn't stop flowing but she prayed and it changed my life. God was definitely at TAM conservatory.
Immidiately after TAM I went back to Star Lake for Territorial Music camp. There were a bunch of tam students that went to star lake so when we got there we prayed in a huge circle asking God to keep this fire burning inside us and to not change because we were at camp, I think it worked :) We had an awesome week at Star Lake. The special guests were the Press's. They are amazing people from Australia who really love the Lord. We had such a great time with them. I also hung out with the most amazing bunch of people. It's awesome to have friends who love Jesus and who you can talk to about anything and everything. We all live so far away from eachother so this time with each other is crucial!
Well camp went by quickly and everyone left except me. I had to stay because I had to get ready to work for GNY Junior Music Conservatory. I was the girls counselor. It was a good week. So now I'm back at home for a few days then off the camp for old fashioned camp meetings! Then my senior year starts! What an exciting life I have :)
